Aloha, I’m Shawn Nakamoto

As a self-proclaimed word nerd with a passion for storytelling and writing, my journey in public relations started when I switched majors from music to Communication in college. My knack for organization and planning, combined with my love for writing, set me on a path to a fulfilling career in this industry.

With extensive experience in both nonprofit and corporate sectors, I’ve held senior communications roles at notable organizations including Kaiser Permanente, the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, Hawai‘i Pacific Health, and Kamehameha Schools. After retiring in 2024, I relaunched my consultancy to continue supporting organizations with their communication needs.
